SC Woman Tried to Smuggle Contraband During Prison Visit, Officials Say

The South Carolina Department of Corrections say Christy Leigh Mills attempted to provide contraband, including tobacco and a controlled substance, to a prisoner at Tyger River Correctional Institution.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A Lexington woman was arrested for allegedly attempted to provide contraband to a prisoner this weekend.

The South Carolina Department of Corrections say Christy Leigh Mills tried to smuggle contraband, including tobacco and a controlled substance, while visiting an inmate at Tyger River Correctional Institution.

Mills is charged with possession with intent to distribute, conspiracy and attempting to furnish a prisoner with contraband.
