Health assessments and screenings for former Allen Benedict Court residents will be held Saturday

This event will be at the Cecil Tillis Center located on 2111 Simpkins Lane in Columbia on Saturday, April 27 from 10 am until 2 pm.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — (WLTX) -- The Columbia Housing Authority is partnering with Prisma Health to host a community event for former Allen Benedict Court residents.

The event is called Housing & Health: A Community Resource Fair. It will have health assessments and screenings plus empowerment seminars for residents geared toward summer youth employment. 

There will be activities for children to enjoy, including a bouncy house, face-painting, games and a fish fry.

This event will be held at the Cecil Tillis Center located on 2111 Simpkins Lane in Columbia on Saturday, April 27 from 10 am until 2 pm.

Former Allen Benedict Court residents, Columbia Housing Authority residents and community partners are all welcome.

“The Housing Authority is excited to bring a community of resources directly to residents at this event,” says Donna Gilbert, director of resident programs for the Columbia Housing Authority.“We look forward to having our residents take advantage of all the opportunities provided by participating organizations as well as those provided by our partner Prisma Health,” concludes Gilbert.
