Chris Silva has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Miami Heat which could open the door for him to land a two-way deal with the team.

Exhibit 10 deals allow players to earn a bonus of anywhere from $5,000 to $50,000 but only if they are waived by the NBA team, then sign a deal with the franchise’s G League affiliate and remain with that affiliate team for 60 days.

Silva has been in the starting lineup for all six Summer League games for the Heat, averaging 7.0 points on 56.5 percent shooting from the field, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 18.3 minutes per game.

Silva is a former FIrst-Team All-SEC selection for the Gamecocks. He was also named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year as a junior.

As a senior, he averaged 15.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks.

If Silva lands a two-way deal, it would allow him to be a part on the Heat roster for a maximum of 45 days with the rest of his time spent on the franchise's G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
