Former Lexington golfer honored by the Women's Golf Coaches Association

Gracyn Burgess is honored for his excellence in the classroom

Lexington graduate Gracyn Burgess is one of two Clemson golfers who have been named All-American scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association. The criteria for this is quite stringent as athletes have to carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50.

The former News19 Player of the Week finished with a stroke average of 74.96 for the 2018-19 season. The freshman sport communications major finished third on the team in birdies with 78 and had the third lowest single round this season, a four-under par 66 at the Gator Invitational.

In her high school career, Gracyn was a part of three state championships at Lexington. Her senior season, she was named Player of the Year by the South Carolina Junior Golf Association and the Carolinas Golf Association.
